The Snowdonia Mammal Group had communicated by email and occasional newsletter but needed a more effective way of communication to publicise the survey work to record the distribution of mammals across the National Park.
The group has just completed a 5 year survey in which volunteers have scoured the countryside recording the presence of mammals in the 2,200+ 1-kilometre squares within the park. It is planned to publish the results in a book but the website will complement that publication and be a portal to keep the information up to date.
The website will also provide useful information about events organised by the group and projects they are supporting. The basic site has been constructed and is in the process of being populated with contributions from several people. The site will need regular updating and should be a great asset to the area and natural history.
We chose a simple design for the site that would provide a contrasting background for wildlife photos and blend in with the newly developed logo for the mammal group.
